Magnum in Istanbul

Presented at Bulgur Palas, Magnum in Istanbul offered a survey of Magnum Photos' visual legacy through a selection of works spanning the agency's history. Bringing together photographs by Magnum photographers from the mid-twentieth century to the present, the exhibition explored documentary photography as a collective practice of witnessing social, political, and cultural change across the world. Alongside iconic photographs from Magnum's archive, the exhibition featured a dedicated section on Istanbul by Magnum photographer Emin Özmen, creating a dialogue between global and local perspectives. Marking the beginning of an ongoing collaboration between Magnum Photos and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the exhibition introduced one of the world's most influential photographic archives to audiences in Istanbul.
